Our Sustainability Team continue to review our Skye Half Marathon & 10K race to identify any areas where we can reduce our environmental impact. This is a constant work in progress. Some of our initiaitives include: race numbers, hospitality, and recycling.
Race Numbers – We continue to use race numbers made from Tyvek which is fully recyclable. We place blue recycling bins at the finish line for you to recycle.
Safety Pins – We ask entrants to check their drawers & sewing kits as part of our ‘Bring Your Own Pins’ initiative. We will provide clearly labelled bins at the finish line to collect pins for us to reuse at future events
Food Village – We suggest the use of recycled cutlery, plates and napkins to our food vendors and continue to request a range of plant-based options as the popularity of these choices increases each year.
Unwanted Running Gear – We promote the use of external charities and organisations to dispose of unwanted running clothing such as ReRun Clothing, DropPoint, Clothes Aid and New Uses For Old Race Tshirts
