  • Dramatic Landscapes: Run beneath the imposing Cuillin Mountains, nestled between the Atlantic and North Sea coastlines, and traverse the realm of Clans MacLeod and MacDonald. Explore Skye's rich history through its castles, churches, and ancient Brochs.
  • Unforgettable Course: The chip-timed loop starts with a gradual climb from Portree, followed by a thrilling downhill stretch. The scenic single-track route winds through breathtaking countryside, sometimes flanking the world-famous salmon and sea trout river, the River Snizort.

Conquer the Dramatic Isle of Skye 10k - REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. 

This race is growing in stature and popularity & returns again for 2025.  This chip-timed race offers a stunning challenge for runners of all abilities (16 years and over).

Experience the Majesty of Skye:

  • Unique Course: The 10k route begins at the 11km mark of the Skye Half Marathon, taking you on a single-track closed road through the island's dramatic and beautiful countryside.
  • Breathtaking Scenery: Immerse yourself in the rugged landscapes of Skye, offering a truly unforgettable running experience.

Race Day Details:

  • Convenient Start: Board one of two courtesy buses thanks to Stagecoach which will take you to the designated 10k starting point.
  • Gun Start: Begin your race con-currently with the Half Marathon participants, creating a thrilling finish line atmosphere.
  • Post-Race Celebration: Earn your well-deserved commemorative finishers medal and race goodies.
  • Competitive Spirit: Compete for category prizes and push your limits on this challenging course.

  • Skye and Lochalsh Mental Health Association (SLMHA): A welcoming space for adults facing mental health challenges, offering support and community.

  • Skye Cancer Care: Providing compassionate hospice care locally for those with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, allowing them to stay close to loved ones.

The 2025 Skye Half Marathon continues to champion the environment and to reduce the damaging impact a 1000 ticket race can have on our native landscape.
