Getting to Skye
We are an island destination which makes our race all the more unique. Travel however is pretty straightforward and we are more accessible than you might think. We have a toll free bridge linking us to the mainland, as well as regular ferry sailings from Mallaig. You can get to the Isle of Skye from the Highland capital of Inverness. Inverness Airport has interconnecting flights from London airports.
You can also travel to Inverness from London, Edinburgh or Glasgow by train (for some journeys sleeper trains are an option). The city has good bus links to the island or you could go by train to Kyle of Lochalsh.
The Kyle train terminates close to the Skye Bridge which links the island with the mainland, and the train connects with bus services.
It is also possible to hire a car from Inverness Airport or upon arrival on the Isle (please book well in advance as hire cars are limited)
Car Parking
- Parking is available at the venue for registration only
- Please note you will be unable to park your vehicle at the venue from 9.30am on race day (any vehicles in the car park from that time onwards, cannot be removed until the race had finished)
- Please use one of our designated car parks on race day, so as not to cause congestion in the village
Lift Share
As part of our dive to make our race more sustainable, we'd like to encourage participants to lift share to the event. If you would be interested in offering a seat in your car or would like a lift, please visit this page and log your details.
